I’m Wayne Knudsen, Professor here at Synergy Martial Arts Academy.
As a martial arts instructor with extensive experience training individuals, there is nothing better than seeing you grow firsthand.
But more important than the martial arts skills you learn… is the personal skills you develop and carry for life.
Because martial arts is so much more than just kicking and punching, and getting the next colorful belt.
It’s about developing confidence, discipline, character, focus and respect.
With every class we teach, you grow in mind, body and character.
That’s because martial arts provides instant positive feedback. Through learning to focus on the core moves, they develop discipline and respect. They can instantly see and feel a difference, making them destined to build confidence, self-awareness and self-respect.

Do I need to know jiu-jitsu or Judo to study Brazilian Jiu Jitsu?
No, you don’t. There are beginner classes available and many of the people who study Brazilian Jiu Jitsu have no prior martial arts training.
Do I need any special equipment to study Brazilian Jiu Jitsu?
Students typically wear a Gi (two-piece garment worn by martial artists.) It is also typical for some students may want to wear a mouth guard. It’s a good idea to have a supply of athletic tape, as well.
